A Growing Network
The Melbourne Innovation District is built on partnership and continues to evolve through it.
The district began as a collaboration between RMIT University, University of Melbourne and the City of Melbourne, and now extends beyond this foundation, with a broader network of organisations contributing to activity across the City North area.
These partnerships connect research, industry and community, enabling ideas to move more quickly into practice. As the district grows, new partners continue to shape collaboration and outcomes, reflecting how innovation happens through connection, proximity and shared intent.
Working Together
Partnership within the district is defined by action.
Across the network, relationships are translating into shared initiatives, research collaborations and place-based projects. These activities bring together strengths across health, technology, design and social innovation, creating opportunities that would not exist within a single organisation.
For RMIT, this means working closely with partners to align priorities, test ideas and deliver outcomes that respond to real world challenges.
