Former Women’s Hospital Site Redevelopment
The University of Melbourne will build Australia’s leading innovation precinct on the former Royal Women’s Hospital site on Grattan St in Carlton.
The precinct will tackle major societal challenges (such as changing technologies, sustainability and resilience) through multi-disciplinary collaborations. It will provide a home for technology focused organisations, cutting-edge research and next generation start-ups that will significantly benefit the Australian economy and society. It will also include retail, indoor and outdoor public spaces, student accommodation, offices, childcare and the Science Gallery Melbourne. The precinct builds on the successful Lab-14 prototype, which has been operating for the last two and
a half years.
