Acknowledgement of Country

RMIT University acknowledges the people of the Woi Wurrung and Boon Wurrung language groups of the eastern Kulin Nation on whose unceded lands we conduct the business of the University.

What is it?

Developing, collaborating, researching and prototyping in new ways and in new combinations to meet social needs.

Aims of Social Innovation:

  • Meeting social needs and solving pressing problems through new ideas, new partnerships and dynamic settings for experimental and collaborative practice.
  • Where enterprise activation, startups and acceleration have been explored in depth the value and potential of social innovation are still emerging, though Victoria and Melbourne already hold important expertise and comparative advantage.
  • Designing policy and workforce solutions in the social economy in various fields, including, health, housing, disability and justice in partnership with industry, civil society, government, users, and experts.
